Last week I celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with my parents. On the same day we also celebrated my father's birthday and I wanted to prepare this heart-shaped mascarpone cake for him.
As you well know, I'm not very good at decorating cakes, but with this birthday cake for my dad I tried my hand at this topping of chocolate and sugary curls.
I am very proud of this mascarpone cake and this recipe is really good, try it and then let me know: maybe I gave you an idea to prepare the next birthday cake;)

Method

How to make mascarpone cake

Separate the yolks from the whites. In a bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks.
In a bowl, whip the egg yolks with the sugar.
Add the flour, starch, baking powder and vanilla to the egg yolks.

Add the melted butter.
Finally, add the previously whipped egg whites to the mixture.

Grease and flour a heart-shaped mold and pour the mixture into it.

Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C and bake for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the mascarpone cream.
In a bowl, whip the egg yolks with the sugar. Add the mascarpone.

Finally, stir in the whipped egg white.

Add the grated chocolate to the mascarpone cream and mix everything gently.

Prepare a syrup for the cake by boiling 100 ml of water and 2 tablespoons of sugar, and flavoring with a glass of sweet liqueur or lemon peel.
Go now to assemble your mascarpone heart.
Divide the cake in half horizontally.

Wet the inside of the two slices with the syrup.
Spread 2/3 of the mascarpone cream on the base of the cake.

Overlap the other half of the cake and apply light pressure.

Spread the remaining cream onto the sides and surface of the cake.

Garnish the mascarpone cake with chocolate flakes. I used white chocolate tails and heart-shaped sugars.

Put the mascarpone heart cake in the fridge for at least 2 hours before bringing it to the table and serving it.
